Every modern browser has a hidden feature: “print to PDF.” Instead of sending the page to a real printer, it turns the page into a clean, shareable file. This is the same trick pros use when they say they “saved a receipt” — no extra software needed.

On a Windows or Mac computer

Open the web page in your browser

Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox all work. Scroll through to make sure you can see the full page you want.

Press the print shortcut

  • On Windows: hold Ctrl and press P.
  • On a Mac: hold and press P.

A Print window slides in from the right.

Change the "destination" to Save as PDF

At the top of the Print window you’ll see Destination or Printer. Click it and pick Save as PDF (Chrome, Edge) or PDF (Safari).

Click Save

The Print button turns into a Save button. Click it, pick a folder (usually Documents or Desktop), and give the file a name you’ll recognize later.

On an iPhone or iPad

Open the page in Safari

These steps use Safari, Apple’s built-in browser. They also work in Chrome on iPhone.

Tap the Share button

The little square with an arrow pointing up, bottom-center of the screen.

Tap "Options" at the top and choose PDF

On the share sheet, you’ll see the name of the web page at the top. Right underneath, tap Options. Choose PDF instead of “Automatic” or “Reader PDF”.

Tap Done, and you’ll return to the share sheet.

Tap "Save to Files"

Scroll through the share list and tap Save to Files. Pick a folder (On My iPhone → Downloads works well) and tap Save.

On an Android phone

Open the page in Chrome

Chrome comes pre-installed on every Android.

Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right

A menu slides down.

Tap Share and then Print

Not every phone shows Print directly. If yours doesn’t, tap Share first and then look for Print in the next list.

Change the printer to "Save as PDF"

At the top of the print preview, tap the drop-down (it may say “Select a printer”). Pick Save as PDF. Then tap the big circular PDF button, pick a folder, and save.

What’s next

Got the PDF saved? You might want to email it to someone, or combine it with another PDF to make one neat document.
